Hello! Welcome to Foxes Love Lemons.
If you’re looking for simple yet special recipes that have been tested by a culinary school graduate, you’ve come to the right place.
Foxes Love Lemons is known for restaurant-quality recipes that are guaranteed to be reliable, but aren’t snobby. Some of our popular recipes include delicious slow cooker ideas, creative salmon dinners, spooky Halloween food, and party platters anyone can make.
About the blog.
Foxes Love Lemons was launched in early 2013. Since then, I’ve published over 700 recipes.
The goal was, and still is, to share recipes that take the techniques and tricks I learned in culinary school and use them to make the best dish possible at home.
The recipes you’ll find here use everyday ingredients and have easy-to-follow steps. While there are a handful of “Sunday afternoon recipes” – something to tackle on a day off – most recipes here are weekday appropriate.
We’re not afraid of salt, acid and butter around here. In fact, the #1 way to make your home-cooked food taste more like the restaurant food you love is to just salt it a little more.
Every recipe has been tested multiple times to be sure the measurements and cooking times are exact, the flavors are spot on, and it’s something you’ll absolutely be able to re-create in your home.
Hundreds of thousands of people visit this site every month, and our Home Chef Tips aim to increase each cook’s confidence in the kitchen with every recipe they try.
About Lori Yates.
I’m the award-winning recipe developer and tester, and food photographer and stylist behind this blog.
I was born and raised in southeastern Michigan, and I grew up eating all of the Midwestern classics – Kraft mac and cheese, potato salad made with lots of mayo, and buckeyes for Christmas.
A degrees in Communications from the University of Michigan led me to a career in media planning, where I slowly started to realize that the best part of my day was going home and cooking something interesting for dinner.
So I quit, and enrolled at one of the nation’s top culinary schools (I’m a Schoolcraft College Ocelot!).
Sure, I had to wake up at 4 AM, and wear hideous checkered chef’s pants and paper hats, but I learned to make all the culinary classics from some of the best chefs in the country.
Since graduating, I’ve written this blog, and worked as a freelance recipe developer and food photographer. I live with my husband, daughter, and shelter dog near Detroit.
