If you’re looking for a bright and fresh Thanksgiving Salad, this is the one with the best seasonal ingredients that you can prep in advance!

A large round platter filled with Thanksgiving Salad made with pears, pomegranate seeds, roasted acorn squash, candied pecans, Parmesan cheese and mixed greens. The toppings are arranged over the greens in rows.

Get ready for the Best Thanksgiving Salad

For me, Thanksgiving dinner usually isn’t complete without a salad, and I’ve made this same really good Thanksgiving green salad recipe year after year.

This salad for Thanksgiving is a combination of sweet and savory flavors using seasonal ingredients, and it’s easy to prep a lot of it in advance. Simply toss it together right before dinner!

Why you will love this Thanksgiving Salad Recipe

  • Make the dressing and roast the squash in advance, so all you have to do before dinner is toss everything together!
  • Since there are usually lots of rich, heavier dishes on the holiday table (hello cheesy corn casserole and Cajun turkey), I find that a light and fresh salad with an acidic dressing like this one really helps to balance everything out.
  • It’s a good place in your menu to incorporate seasonal ingredients that you may not want to dedicate an entire side dish to. Fall squash can be highlighted in this salad, or even roasted sweet potatoes instead if you’re not serving them as their own dish.

This fun and colorful Halloween Salad is the best spooky side dish. With pepperoni bats, vibrantly colored tortellini and mozzarella cheese skulls, it’s also the most delicious!

An orange bowl filled with with Halloween salad made with greens, olives, sliced peppers, dyed tortellini, mozzarella cheese skulls and pepperoni cut into bat shapes, with skeleton hands reaching in to serve the salad.

This Spooky Pasta Salad makes a great Halloween Side Dish!

As you know, I am having the MOST fun with Halloween food this spooky season. Sure, Halloween dirt cups and Halloween cake pops are certainly not what I went to culinary school for, but who cares?

My husband and I have always loved Halloween, but having a little kid running around has made it even more fun. Truly, seeing Halloween joy through her eyes is even more magical than Christmas for us!

One thing I don’t see much of on the internet is Halloween side dishes! But everybody needs to eat dinner on Halloween to get their energy up for trick-or-treating.

Usually, I will serve something easy like crock pot beef stroganoff or a slow cooker soup for an early supper right before trick-or-treating. But I never knew what to do about a side dish until this year.

Enter this fun and colorful Halloween salad recipe. With pepperoni bats, spooky tortellini and mozzarella cheese skulls, it’s just as delicious as it is perfect for All Hallows Eve.

This Spring salad is loaded with delicious seasonal ingredients including asparagus, snap peas, prosciutto and cheese. Topped with a deviled egg dressing, it’s perfect as an Easter salad or for Mother’s Day brunch.

Large white platter filled with spring salad made with asparagus, snap peas, prosciutto, cheese and shallots.

Salads for specific holidays are becoming something of a theme around here. It all started with my Thanksgiving salad, which Google liked enough to put it at the top of it’s search results, meaning lots and lots of people make this salad each year for their holiday dinner, and that makes me so happy.

From there, I expanded into Thanksgiving fruit salad, which was also popular. And then I tried my hand at Christmas salad and Christmas fruit salad.

So, it makes sense that today I’m back with, you guessed it – Easter Salad (I did Easter fruit salad also, of course). Serve this with ham with pineapple sauce and mashed potatoes with heavy whipping cream with homemade gravy for my idea of a perfect Easter feast.

Although, just like all of my holiday salads, it certainly isn’t meant to ONLY be enjoyed on that specific holiday.

Like my fried goat cheese salad, think of this more like a Spring salad idea that you can enjoy any time you want this season. It’d also be right at home on a Mother’s Day brunch menu, alongside bacon in oven and vegetarian quiche.

This One Pan Sausage & Tortellini can be on the table in minimal time with minimal dishes. It's a perfect balance of creamy, spicy and sweet, and there's tons of hidden veggies, too!  | foxeslovelemons.com

The year is finally starting to wind down, and I am R-E-A-D-Y for that break from work between Christmas and New Year’s. That glorious week where I can stay in my pajamas as long as I want, watch movies, eat snacks and pretend they’re meals, read books, do puzzles, and generally just unwind and do nothing.

I especially look forward to this time because as a small-business owner, December is one of my busiest months. Lots of clients requesting lots of projects, as well as gearing up for 2018.

December is a time where complicated dinners are just not possible. I have neither the time nor the mental energy to figure that out.

This One Pan Sausage & Tortellini (as well as my Sausage Pasta Skillet and salmon spinach pasta) is a meal I turn to time and again in busy seasons of life.

Asian Shrimp Salad with Gochujang Dressing – a cold, crunchy, refreshing salad for a warm day. | foxeslovelemons.com

Remember when I explained the giant tub of gochujang (Korean chili paste) that has been hanging out in my fridge since the Super Bowl, when my husband used it to make some Korean meatballs?

Yep, it’s still in there, lurking….in the back….being ignored. I don’t know why – it’s a little bit spicy and a little bit smoky, and adds a depth of flavor to any dish that needs some Korean flair. I just never notice it back there, behind the hummus.

I moved it to the front of the top shelf – it’s too delicious to let expire. A reader comment suggested I make salad dressing with it, so that’s exactly what I did.

Steak-Quinoa Salad with Avocado-Lime Ranch Dressing - A protein-packed salad that will leave you satisfied! | foxeslovelemons.com
This post should really be titled “how I actually learned to LOVE quinoa.” To say it’s trendy would be a huge understatement (90% of Pinterest seems to be things you can make with quinoa). And I know it’s good for you, because I can still recite the spiel I learned from when I worked at a salad bar for three months:  “Quinoa is a superfood.
It is very high in protein, and gluten-free. It is a complete protein, because it contains all of the amino acids.” I robotically repeated this about 20 times a day when customers would ask “what’s keen-owe-ahh?” or “queen-oh-weee, what’s that?”
