This Baby Back Ribs in Oven recipe couldn’t be easier!

When it comes to the most amount of deliciousness for the least amount of effort, oven baked baby back ribs take the grand prize, in my opinion.

You only need three ingredients – the ribs, seasoning rub (either homemade or store bought) and some barbecue sauce (I always use store bought).

After a quick five minutes of prep work, your oven will literally do all of the work for you.

Whether you’re hosting a backyard cookout or just craving some succulent ribs, this recipe will become a go-to for you!

Why you will love these Oven Baby Back Ribs

  • You only need one pan. No transferring to the grill, and we’re not making homemade sauce. One rimmed sheet pan is the only dish you’ll have to do.
  • No flipping. Put the ribs in the oven and forget about them for 2 hours!
  • Recipe can easily be scaled up or down to make more or less servings.

We know the price of everything at the grocery store has gone up, but ribs especially seem to be very pricy in recent years. It’s hard to get a few racks of baby backs and feed a crowd crock pot ribs or root beer ribs without breaking the bank.

So I’ve started making country style pork ribs in oven. They give me the barbecue flavor I love without putting a dent in my wallet.

In my part of the country, it’s easy to find these ribs sold either boneless or bone-in, typically for $3 to $4 per pound or less.

The flavor and texture is quite similar to baby back ribs, and they’re actually meatier than baby back ribs, too. What a win win!

I used bone-in country style pork ribs for these country style ribs in oven, but you can use boneless and follow the same directions.

Two half racks of baby back ribs with barbecue sauce, with bottle of root beer in background.

Nothing says summer like a slab of baby back ribs, does it? Ribs are usually what we make both for Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Starting and ending the summer with ribs (with grilled chicken pizza and kafta in between)

We have a few different ways we like to make ribs. Sometimes we’ll make crock pot ribs so that we don’t heat the house up with the oven on really hot days.

Sometimes we’ll brush them with harissa bbq sauce. Sometimes we’ll make a our best rib rub for extra flavor without having to marinate. Once in awhile we’ll make country style pork ribs oven, which aren’t really ribs at all!

But these root beer ribs are probably my favorite of the styles of ribs we make. These ribs are marinated in root beer, and then slathered in a homemade root beer BBQ sauce. They’re irresistible, especially with a tequila mojito in hand!
