Shake up tradition this holiday season with this Charcuterie Chalet, A.K.A. Savory Gingerbread House. Get creative with things like cheese, crackers, pretzels, herbs and veggies!

If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you know that I’m not much of a baker or a dessert maker.

Every once in awhile, I’ll get inspired and bust out an apple rose tart or some cute little cupcakes, but the ratio of savory recipes to sweet recipes on this blog is probably about 10 to 1.

French Onion Cheese Fondue - An ooey gooey three-cheese fondue studded with deeply caramelized onions. | foxeslovelemons.com

You guys, it’s the last Epic Game Day recipe. I’m sort of sad it’s all over. I’ve had so much fun sharing all of my “home chef” party food recipes with you guys. But, the game is this weekend, and all good things must come to an end.

Don’t worry . . . we’re going out with a bang. What’s a party without a supremely gooey cheese dip? And this French Onion Cheese Fondue, oh man. It’s a blend of three of the tastiest and best melting cheeses in the world.

Monte Cristo Party Bites with Raspberry-Malbec Jam - The classic diner sandwich dressed up as a fancy appetizer! Griddled sandwiches filled with ham, turkey and fontina cheese, with a side of homemade jam for dipping! | foxeslovelemons.com

Have you ever had a Monte Cristo sandwich? While some of my college roommates loved them, at the time, they sort of horrified me. There’s a few different versions with subtle variations, but here’s the gist: it’s a ham (or sometimes ham and turkey) sandwich with cheese (and maybe mustard and/or mayo). The whole thing is either dipped in batter and deep fried, or dipped in egg wash and griddled like French toast. It’s sometimes sprinkled with powdered sugar (which I think is where things fell off the rails for me), and it’s always served with a side of jam.
