Blackberry Muffins are an easy and scrumptious treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast or as a snack. These bakery-quality muffins are filled with jammy berries and orange zest and topped with sparkling sugar!

A gray metal baking pan with ten blackberry muffins in purple paper liners, along with fresh blackberry arranged around the muffins.

You know how last year I got on a creme brulee kick and ended up publishing just about all of the creme brulee flavors I could think of? I think this year, my thing might be muffins.

My buttermilk blueberry muffins that I shared earlier this year are one of my favorite recipes of all time. My cranberry sauce muffins have been around for quite a few years, and are always very popular after Thanksgiving.

All of this is putting me in the mood to keep making and sharing more muffins. And sorry, shepherd’s pie muffins and my breakfast muffins recipe. I love you, but I really mean sweet muffins.

These blackberry muffins are simple and delicious, and are perfect for a lazy Sunday morning at home snuggled up with some bacon in the oven, or a busy weekday morning where you grab a salted caramel cream cold brew and a muffin and head out the door.

This Orange Bundt Cake is brimming with the bright flavor of fresh orange zest. A vivid purple drizzle of blackberry icing couldn’t be prettier for a Spring celebration.

An orange bundt cake decorated with blackberry icing and fresh blackberries, on a white fluted cake stand.

With a small kitchen and limited storage, I’ve weeded out most appliances, tools and pans that serve a single purpose. They just take up too much valuable real estate.

The only exception I’ve made is my beloved egg cooker, which cooks the most perfect hard boiled eggs for shrimp deviled eggs and Easter salad.

And for whatever reason, a single special bundt pan has stuck with me. I bought this pan probably over 10 years ago. I saw it in a catalog (I believe this particular shape/style was being re-released for some type of Bundt anniversary) and just knew I had to have it.

I find that Spring is a time where I make cakes more often than the rest of the year. I’m not sure why, but I think it has something to do with my love of light cakes with bright, fresh flavors, like citrus and berries.

This orange bundt cake recipe is a breeze to mix up, and, like my lemon curd cake and Black Forest cupcakes, it’s perfect for any special occasion, like Mother’s Day or Easter, or a Spring birthday.

The options are limitless with these Individual Charcuterie Cups. Grab some plastic cups and load them up with meat, cheese, fruit and all sorts of garnishes. Perfect for holidays and game day!

Charcuterie cups built in small clear plastic cups, made with salami, ham, cheeses, fresh and dried fruit, breadsticks and herbs.

DIY Charcuterie Cup Ideas

All the way from a Thanksgiving charcuterie board to a charcuterie chalet and many stops in between, there’s no denying that this time of year is perfect for as many fun charcuterie board ideas as you can dream up.

Whether you’re entertaining a crowd with a wine and cheese board or just having some snacks at home, this type of food is probably at its most popular during the holidays, so you can have a cranberry rosemary cocktail or grapefruit mule in one hand, and a snack in the other!

And sure, I’ve already done jarcuterie, and I know you’re thinking that this charcuterie in a cup really isn’t much different. And you’re right – it’s not! I’m just publishing these mini charcuterie cups to give you even more inspiration for single serving charcuterie this holiday season.

There is nothing better than classic Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. This rich and creamy custard with a crunchy sugar crust is a make-ahead restaurant-style dessert that you can easily make at home.

Six dishes of vanilla bean creme brulee garnished with berries and mint sprigs, on a light surface, with gold spoons digging into three of the dishes.

Vanilla Creme Brûlée is timeless!

Sometimes, you just can’t improve on a classic. Once in awhile, I love a modern restaurant dessert with unexpected ingredients and preparations.

But truly, is there anything better than an amazing dish of creme brulee? The rich custard paired with the crackly torched sugar top is irresistible, in my opinion.

What’s funny is that I’ve published more “creative” creme brulee flavors like grapefruit creme brulee and coconut creme brulee and even Christmas creme brulee.

But oddly, I’ve never published the most traditional version ever. The kind I was taught to make my first week of culinary school.

So today, I’m sharing my perfect recipe for vanilla bean creme brulee. It will never go out of style!

This Lemon Creme Brulee is a rich lemon-infused custard with a crackly torched sugar top. A treat for lemon lovers, this restaurant-style dessert can be prepared in advance and even frozen to enjoy in the future!

White ceramic bowl with handles, filled with lemon creme brulee and topped with blackberries.

I often wonder if anybody feels a bit deceived by the name of this blog. I worry that fellow lemon lovers arrive here, quickly look around, and wonder where all the luscious lemon desserts are.

I’ve published embarrassingly few; just a Meyer lemon bundt cake here or lemon poppy seed bars there. Oh, and not a dessert, but I thought my lemon margaritas were pretty creative!

But truth be told, I’m unapologetically a savory cook and eater. My love for lemons is mainly an appreciation of how their flavor can brighten and enhance almost any (savory) dish.

I’ve found that most otherwise boring and bland recipes can be saved by a touch of acidic lemon juice.

My tastebuds have come to crave acid, and now I use a splash of lemon to cut through the richness in homemade gravy and my salmon pasta recipe, and make a killer homemade lemon tahini salad dressing. Lemon zest is essential in my buttermilk blueberry muffins.

But a few years brack, I had lemon creme brulee at a restaurant, and that tiny little ramekin of custard with burnt sugar on top has been on my brain ever since (even more so than classic vanilla bean creme brulee or chocolate creme brulee).

It tasted like the essence of a thousand lemons, balanced by the richness of the cream and the crackle of the torched topping.

I’m re-creating it for home chefs (and people wondering where the luscious lemon desserts are) today!

Halloween charcuterie board filled with cheeses, meats, pumpkins, crackers, nuts, fruits and sweets.

This Halloween Cheese Board is perfect for your Halloween Party

Halloween is definitely one of the most beloved holidays in our household. My husband goes all out with yard decorations, I plan our family Halloween costume months in advance, and our daughter is in it for the candy, of course.

I’ve already done an extensive post on Halloween food ideas (and Halloween deviled eggs, too!). But when you combine my love for Halloween with my love for fun charcuterie board ideas, I couldn’t resist a Halloween board dedicated to charcuterie and cheese.

And if breakfast charcuterie and charcuterie chalets are things, then a Halloween charcuterie board is also most definitely a thing.

I love a unique charcuterie board idea! Equal parts cute and creepy, let me walk you through how I built this spooky appetizer tray. And don’t forget a batch of Halloween bark or Halloween cake pops for dessert!

Frozen yogurt pie topped with artfully arranged fruit on a light gray background.

My summer is certainly shaping up to be better than the last one, and I hope that’s true for you, too! More fun, more safe gatherings, more enjoying every second!

If you have any plans for a cookout or get together this summer, I highly recommend a menu of grilled buttermilk chicken with my apple cider vinegar coleslaw recipe and Mexican street corn salad recipe on the side. Plus some agave lemonade. And of course, you can’t forget dessert.

You probably already know about my love of Greek yogurt in recipes like Greek yogurt mashed potatoes, healthy buffalo chicken dip and Greek yogurt pasta. Well, it’s perfect for a frozen dessert, too!

This Frozen Yogurt Pie is the ideal way to celebrate just how great this summer is really going to be. It combines a delectable graham cracker crust (I mean, who doesn’t love a graham cracker crust?), a creamy yogurt filling, and the prettiest fresh fruit.

This Blackberry Tequila Mojito is the best summer drink. Mint, lime, soda and blackberries come together in this easy tequila cocktail.

Two etched cocktail glasses filled with tequila mojjito and garnished with mint and blackberries.

Something I was not prepared for when I became a parent is how much kids LOVE berries. The amount of berries that just one toddler can eat in a single week is staggering.

People talk a lot about saving up money to send your kids to college, but shoot, I should have been saving up money years ago for my toddler’s berry consumption.

Blueberries and raspberries are the most eaten around here, with strawberries making an appearance when they’re at their peak in the summer (in fruit crisp bars for the kids as well as strawberry Moscow mules for the adults).

But blackberries are a special treat in our house, for both the toddler and the adults. My daughter can gobble down a half carton in a single sitting (probably a whole carton if I don’t put them in blackberry muffins first).

But I think I’ll save a few of these gems for something a little more sophisticated, like an easy tequila cocktail recipe. So parents, after all the berry-grubbin’ kids are in bed, raise a glass with this blackberry tequila mojito recipe (and maybe snack on some spicy potato chips, too).

Five years ago, when basically everybody in my friend group was childfree, I would get very ambitious and creative when it came to what food I would bring to a party. I’d show up with a Smoked Salmon Platter or Roasted Corn Salad or General Tso’s Meatballs.

But if you’re in your mid-thirties like me, you can probably relate: our “parties” are now just kids running wild everywhere. So many kids. And most kids aren’t really into food they haven’t seen before.

I’ve been sharing a little bit about about my husband and I’s recent 10th anniversary trip to Maui on my Instagram account. It was an amazing trip, with lots of relaxation, snorkeling, golf (for him), shave ice (for me), driving around the island and beach hopping.

We also tried açaí bowls for the first time, and fell in love with them.

An açaí bowl is basically just a smoothie in a bowl, topped with stuff. The smoothie should, of course, contain açaí berries (usually in a dried powder form blended into the smoothie).

Açaí is a South American fruit that is considered a superfood thanks to it’s crazy amount of antioxidants and other nutritional benefits.
