Whip up this restaurant-fancy Basil Lemonade in no time with simple ingredients. Enjoy it as-is or elevate it even further by adding watermelon.

A glass filled with ice and basil lemonade, garnished with lemon peels and fresh basil leaves.

This basil lemonade tastes like summer in a glass!

If you love fancy flavored lemonades at restaurants but don’t love paying a premium for them, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with how easy this Basil Lemonade is to make at home.

Especially if you have a pot of basil growing this summer, this is the refreshing beverage you’ll want in your fridge at all times.

It’s simply an easy homemade basil simple syrup combined with fresh lemon juice and water. If you want, you can even add some pureed watermelon to take it to the next level and make watermelon basil lemonade.

Why you will love this basil lemonade recipe

  • Bursting with flavor. The simple syrup made with fresh basil adds a subtly sweet and herbal flavor to classic lemonade.
  • A restaurant-style beverage made at home for the fraction of the price. Make a whole pitcher for what you’d pay for one glass at a restaurant!
  • Versatility. Enjoy it as-is, add watermelon, or even add some liquor to make it spiked.

This refreshing but not too sweet Lemon Shandy recipe is made with homemade lemonade and wheat beer. Easy measurements yield exactly four shandies.

Glasses of lemon shandy garnished with lemon wedges and fresh mint in front of a patterned blue background.

This lemon shandy recipe is fresh, sparkling and so refreshing!

If you love the IDEA of a lemon shandy more than you actually love the pre-mixed bottled versions, this recipe is for you.

Personally, I think the idea of an ice cold beer with some lemonade in it sounds so refreshing. But the big, well known brand of bottled summer shandy is just too sweet for me. About half a bottle, and I’m totally done with it.

This homemade lemon beer is the perfect balance of lemonade that isn’t too sweet, sparkling water for bubbles, and wheat beer.

Why you will love this lemon beer

  • Lemony but not too sweet. You won’t get heartburn from a drink with too much sugar!
  • Made with simple ingredients you probably already have on hand.
  • Easy to prep in advance. Make the simple syrup ahead of time and you’re all set to stir up your shandies whenever you’re ready.

Sparkling Mango Lemonade is a fun, fizzy beverage you’ll want to drink all summer long. Customize it to your own tastes – make it sweet or tart, or spike it with your choice of alcohol.

Glass of sparkling mango lemonade on teal table, with fruit and bottles of juice and water in background and foreground, with bottle pouring fizzy water into glass.

Nothing says “summer” to me than my first batch of homemade lemonade. Mind you, I did NOT grow up drinking anything resembling homemade lemonade.

The powdered mix stuff was where lemonade began and ended, and hey, it was delicious. But somewhere along the line, that stuff started giving me a sore throat every single time I drank it.

While the first sip of ice cold lemony goodness makes the thought of a future sore throat seem worth it, I knew there had to be a better way.

I started making homemade lemonades like honey lemonade and agave lemonade a few summers ago, and haven’t looked back since.

I love them because you know exactly what ingredients are going into them, and you can create just about any flavor combination you’re in the mood for.

You can also customize the sweetness level to your own personal taste. I like more tart, less sweet lemonade (especially when paired with spicy potato chips or wonton nachos), so that’s what I make for myself. I also love fizziness and fruitiness, which is how this sparkling mango lemonade recipe came about!

This honey lemonade is easy and fast to make with simple ingredients. It pairs beautifully with any savory meal or tastes great on its own.

Two tall glasses filled with ice, honey lemonade, mint leaves, lemon wedges and paper straws.

It’s been HOT HOT HOT in the Midwest this summer, and I’d venture to say it’s probably been hot where you are, too. It seems like this is the new normal, so I’m doing my best to stay cool with lots of cold drinks.

While I can wake up with a lemon smoothie, and icy cocktails like strawberry Moscow mules are great in the evening, I also like an alcohol-free option that can be sipped all afternoon. I like to rotate between mango lemonade, agave lemonade, and this honey lemonade.

This is a refreshing lemon mint drink that pairs beautifully with any savory meal, a snack like spicy potato chips or any of my Memorial Day appetizers, or tastes great just on its own!

Just three ingredients plus water come together in this agave lemonade recipe. Similar to Panera agave lemonade, but no added white sugar!

Two small glass bottles with red "cheers" stickers on them, filled with a yellow hued iced beverage and yellow straws.

I’ve probably told you this story before, but there’s no other way to explain all the tequila in my house!

My husband used to travel to Mexico for work several times a year, and without fail, he would bring me back four things: tequila (which I almost always used for a lemon margarita or two), more tequila, agave nectar, and additional tequila (OK I’ll make tequila mojitos). And sometimes even recipe inspiration, like for my Mexican street corn salad recipe.

I left the tequila on the shelf today (although really, a splash of it would be good in this lemonade), and instead used just the agave nectar to balance the tartness of the lemons without any granulated white sugar.

You can find agave nectar in most U.S. supermarkets nowadays, and it’s usually located near either the honey (hey, honey lemonade) or regular sugar.

You only need 3 ingredients + water to stir up a batch of this Mexican-inspired agave lime lemonade! Don’t forget a batch of spicy potato chips or wonton nachos for snacking.

Vanilla Lemonade - Cool down with this refreshing vanilla-infused take on classic lemonade! | foxeslovelemons.com

Welcome to Foxes Love Lemonade! I’m (obviously) obsessed with the bright, tart taste of lemons, and I love freshly squeezed lemonade as well! Classic lemonade is just dandy, but in this summertime series, I’ll be coming up with new spins on my favorite cool-down drink.

I was having a bit of a creativity lull when trying to think up my next new lemonade recipe, so I started poking around my kitchen cabinets. I didn’t have to look very long before my eyes settled on a bottle of Nielsen-Massey vanilla extract.

I’ve long loved Nielsen-Massey products because I know they are the highest quality extracts available. I even give them as holiday and birthday gifts to the bakers in my life.

While we all reach for vanilla extract when making something like a frozen yogurt pie or lemon creme brulee, I wanted to give this little bottle of extract some love in a beverage recipe, so I thought “why not vanilla lemonade?”

Strawberry-Ginger Lemonade - A unique and refreshing twist on classic lemonade! | foxeslovelemons.com

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Foxes Love Lemonade! I’m (obviously) obsessed with the bright, tart taste of lemons, and I love freshly squeezed lemonade as well! Classic lemonade is just dandy, but in this summertime monthly post, I’ll be coming up with new spins on my favorite cool-down drink.

First, a confession. This is the first batch of homemade lemonade I have EVER made. I’m honestly not sure why somebody like me, who always has a big bowl of lemons in the fridge, hasn’t made it before.

Quite honestly, my husband and I simply drink water 95% of the time, so we’ve never been a family that always has a pitcher of lemonade or iced tea in the fridge.

But, all of that might change soon. Because guys, homemade lemonade is amazing.
